I am lucky to find this site also.  Because the same thing just happened to me here in PA.  Same exact situation.  called me on their cell phone.  I have lived here over 3 years and they want to move their son in who is renting one of their trailers.  When I asked why he can't buy the one he is in the landlord told me he was evicting me because he didn't like what time of day it was!   I am wondering what to do myself!

Please refer to the same post in the "Help for Tenants" section of the site.

Before you do anything else, read through the Landlord Tenant Laws for the State/County/City where the rental property is located to find out how much notificaiton and what type of notification the Landlord is required to give you when terminating your lease.

Whether you have a term lease (with a specific expiration date) or a month-to-month lease will also be important to your situation.

While you are reading through the Laws and your lease, find out how Tenants are required to notify a Landlord when necessary repairs are required.  If you followed the Laws regarding proper notification, have proof of contacting the Landlord, have evidence that the repair was necessary and saved your receipts for the repairs, you may be able to ask the Landlord for reimbursement for the repairs that were the Landlord's responsibility.  Cosmetic repairs, for example, would not be repairs that the Landlord would have had to make.

Let us know what you find out by doing some investigating...

Hello, I am new here and feel lucky that I stumbled on to this site.  I have a question and hope someone can help..

My boyfriend and I have lived in the same house for over 6 years.  Our landlady doesn't do anything to maintain the residence..  We do it all.  We have asked her to reimburse us thru the rent and her response was, "it was our choice to fix it.."...    So for the last several months we have discussed possibly buying the house..  When out of the blue she decides that one of her children is going to live here.  She calls us via a cell phone voice mail and tells us we have 6 weeks to move...  We have started a home based business and now we are real close to be thrown onto the streets..

We live in Arkansas.  I just want to know what rights I have and is there anything I can do...

thanks for any and all help or advice..
