| The lost rent is the least of your problems. The lost value of the property, the repair costs, and the increased costs of your insurance will be much more than the lost rent. You should instruct your insurance company to pursue them or their auto insurance company for reimbursement.

They did reimburse us for the rent and as for sueing them, I am not sure what they are going to do.
Thanks for responding.

| Why would you have to renew a lease with them after they caused major damage to the home? Did your insurance company pursue them for the damages? They should have sued them for the repair costs and the rent lost while it was being rehabbed since the fire was their fault. Even if it was an accident, it was their truck that caught on fire and caused the problem. They should have paid for it.

My tenants truuck caught on fire underneath the carport and caused major damage to my home. They were only 2-3 months into a 1 year lease. The home iwas inhabitable. Their lease will be up in 1 month. Do I have to renew or continue a lease with them? Please help.
