Do you have a written pet addendum allowing you to have a dog? If you do, your landlord has to honor that regardless of what his insurance says. However, at lease renewal he will probably either not renew your lease or renew only if the dog is removed. If no written pet addendum is in place, then you have to remove your dog now.
Animal control is not the only agency that can claim a dog vicious...thats ridiculous. Insurance companies can claim any breed vicious if they want. They are probably claiming the breed you have is vicious not your individual pet.

| I was recantly told by my landlord that i have to get rid of my dog.He claims that when the insurance company that insures my building came to do their inspection thay said my dog was vicious and had to go.But my problems is this,i called animal control to see if they had any reports on my dog.not only did they say no reports existed on my dog but they let me know that they were the only ones that could declare my dog vicious and if they needed to thay could call them up.I just need to know is it legal for them to make me get rid of my dog and not make my neighbor get rid of her two dogs who do have numerous reports with animal contol for actually biting someone!
