The LL has the right to enter the unit after he gives appropriate notice.  A notice posted to the front door is the correct method of service in many areas.  You do not need to be home for this.  A couple of times a month seems excessive.  The only reason he can get by with this is that they are spraying for bugs each time.  If it were for any other reason, he could be accused of abusing the right of access.  I do understand he needs to keep up on the spraying until all bugs are gone from the house.  Bugs can be relentless when they take over a property and it can take months of treatment to get rid of them.  No doubt, you want the bugs gone and would welcome just the spraying.

But the inspections are another matter.  Writing up "violations" for a messy or disorganized house are ridiculous.  I can see writing up a notice for dirty dishes or trash since they could contribute to the bugs.  But there is no need to write a notice for a place being disorganized.  Your organizational skills and the time you have to organize with a new baby are your own concern unless he is planning to show the house for sale.  It does no good to write these up.  What could he do with the notice if you ignored it?  He can't evict you for children's toys or belongings being out in the middle of a room.  I'd just ignore his write-ups. You do want him to come and spray.  But if he continues to write up these useless things, you could threaten him with abusing the right of LL entry.  Check your state law for the rememdy you have for this.  You should find it under a section about the right of access.

I have a problem with my landlord overdoing inspections. first i have an inspection about 2 to 3 times a month. They dont always call them inspections once a month there spraying for bugs and have to check this or that, but their inspections and they write me up everytime for messyness. Now this isn't trash and food laying around or any damages to the house, im written up for to much dirty cloths (which is in hampers not on the floor) i have a weight bench i havnt full put together and so other clotter laying around i just had a baby less then a month ago and we'll still finding space for all the new stuff. things like his swing and chair i just leave out becouse i use it everyday, but that is also written up as messy. i understand the need to keep a home in certin conditions, but this seems like harrasment. Nothing i do is damanging to the house and the conditions in the house isn't a cause to be concern about bugs i do all my dishes, valcum the floors and take out the trash. Also im tired of them entering my home all the time when im not there. they say as long as they give 24 hour notice they can enter my home at will. this is usually in the form of a letter tapped to my door which i find the next moring. I'm not sure what to do or even if my landlord has a right to write a report about these minor things or enter my home unattended all the time
