What do the Landlord Tenant Laws and your Lease say regarding the issues you mentioned?  You said that you have copies of written notifications that you sent to the Landlord about the issues.  That will help you demonstrate that you notified the Landlord of the issues at hand.  Do the Colorado Landlord Tenant Laws allow a Tenant to correct such issues and then withhold rent for necessary repairs/remedies?  Let us know what you find out by doing some research...

I live in CO and moved into this apt 2 months ago. The problems started out minor like rust holes in the gas heater venting, and non functioning ceiling fans. These problems and more have all been presented to my landlord both verbally and in writing. Her solutions to these problems are for me to rummage through her crap and fix these issues myself. I don't have time for this. It has now gotten to the point where I was asked to mow the lawn (not in lease). NOW I have a major insect problem, this includes various types of spiders, ants in my food, centipedes, and today my bathroom was full of maggots!! When I confronted my landlord she denied the fact that they were maggots and brought me a can of bug spray..I've been spraying multiple bug sprays with NO results. I've literally been picking these maggots up idividually and am probably at the 200 count!! Landlord refuses to call an exterminator and I really want to move out...What do I do?
