I have trouble getting my landlord to do repairs. He tells me he doesn't have the money and takes weeks to get done and somethings he hasn't taken care of at all. We had some trees fall in the yard from a windstorm back in August of last year and he was supposed to get them up and to this day hasn't. We needed to cut the grass due because of rat/snake problems so we paid someone to pick up the large tree branches that were lying on the ground and took it out of the rent (40.00 for trees and 10.00 for plumbing issue we fixed) and he went nuts because we shorted him on the rent. So he started harrassing my husband on his cell phone at work demanding his 50.00. I am not under a lease at this time. I signed a six-month lease back in 11/02 which stated I was responsible for cutting the grass and keeping "trash" picked up was all. What are my rights here. All he wants to do is come and get his rent and nothing else. He now wants me to sign another lease after five years he revised basically leaving him responsible for nothing which I have refused to sign.
