The first thing I would do is to find real estate investment clubs in your area. I joined one a few years back and it really helped me out to be able to learn from the experience of other successful investors.

I have compiled a fairly large nationwide list of real estate investment groups at this page: http://www.findthatqualitytenant.com/investment_groups.html

Aside from that, it is also a good idea to read some books on different aspects of real estate investing. For a good book on fix-up I recommend "Fixin' Ugly Houses for Money" by Jay DeCima. If you're interested in buying foreclosures, another good book "The Reality of Real Estate Investing" By Allen Watkins is worth a read.

Another good topic to read up on is tenant screening. Many real estate investment books dedicate a chapter to it but I feel that most don't go into enough depth, so I wrote my own. If you're interested, you can find more information about my book (and also tons of free information about tenant screening) on my website (http://www.findthatqualitytenant.com)

One last thing that really helped me when I was starting out was to get a pocket dictionary of real estate terms. I studied a page per day until I had it stuck in my brain. This is really helpful for being able to communicate with realtors, investors, and other people in the business.

Good Luck,

Don Conrad

I think that you need a total guide on real estate like from the A – Z. There are many online sources that can help you in this…but that should be well sorted. Real estate investing has many features to it like probate real estate which is a less – known but a real good way to make the cash roll. Its an effective way to put your money for the real value.

But, there are still a few things related to real estate that need to be sorted out like how do the profits build up, what are the ways to go about this….and some more.
